Each Quantum powerchair is fitted with a manual freewheel lever on both motors.
To manually push your powerchair:

- Locate the levers on each motor.
- Tur n the levers until you feel or hear a click — this disengages the electric brake and allows the chair to be moved manually.
Please note:
There will be some resistance when pushing the chair. This is a built-in
safety feature designed to prevent the powerchair from rolling too quickly
when in freewheel mode.
Powerchair Maintenance
1. How do I clean my Powerchair?
Your power chair comes with an ABS plastic body shroud that allows it to be easily wiped clean. Use a damp cloth to clean the plastic and metal parts of the unit. You can use a mild, non-abrasive cleanser. If necessary, the power chair can be cleaned with an approved disinfectant, but not before making sure that the disinfectant is safe for use on the chair. Please avoid using any products that may scratch the surface of your power chair and keep your chair clean and free of foreign material, such as mud, dirt, hair, food, drink, etc.
2. Can I use my powerchair in the rain/snow/water?
Direct or prolonged exposure to water or dampness could cause your product to malfunction electronically and mechanically. Water can cause electrical components to corrode and the unit’s frame to rust. Also, if your product is exposed to these conditions, it may affect the status of your product’s warranty. Your power chair should be examined periodically for signs of corrosion caused by water exposure, bodily fluid exposure, or incontinence. Damaged components should be replaced or treated immediately.
If your power chair comes into contact with water:
- Dry your device as thoroughly as possible with a towel.
- Allow the product to sit in a warm, dry place for 12 hours to allow unseen water to evaporate.
- Check the joystick operation and the brakes before using your device again
- If any inconsistencies are found, take your product to your authorised Quantum provider
Mobility devices that are frequently exposed to sources of liquid, such as incontinence, should be inspected often for corrosion, and electronic components may need to be replaced frequently. If your product is exposed to these conditions, it may affect the status of your product’s warranty.
3. How often do I need to charge the batteries on my powerchair?
Proper battery maintenance is absolutely essential to get the most out of the common Gel battery found in most mobility Scooters and Powered Wheelchairs.
Educating end users on the importance of proper battery charge and discharge cycles is especially important during the first few months of receiving their chair.
Even still, accidents and problems can still occur that leave these devices with fully discharged batteries. When this occurs, we need to make sure we have the proper tools to revive, test and replace batteries without having to hope or guess that we have solved the issue that caused them to go flat in the first place.
4. How do I service my Quantum chair?
For any service or maintenance needs, please reach out to the Quantum dealer where you purchased your chair. They’ll be happy to help arrange servicing, repairs, or any adjustments to keep your chair performing at its best.
5. How do I get spare parts?
If you need replacement parts, new tires or new batteries, contact your Quantum Dealer. They will order the parts for you and install them on your power chair.
6. Can I get emergency assistance?
If your Quantum chair stops working unexpectedly, please contact your authorised Quantum Dealer that you purchased it from as soon as possible. However, if you are in an emergency we recommend:
- Contact your local support service or carer for immediate assistance
- If you need immediate help, please call 000 (triple zero)

setting, contact your on-call provider or emergency response contact listed in your service plan.
